Mr. Cole has twice been declared “Winner” by The Arizona Republic in its post-legislative session review of lobbyists. He joined HighGround in 1998 after building a successful public-sector career in US Congress, the Arizona Governor’s Office and Legislature. In addition, Mr. Cole was integrally involved in the campaign of Arizona Governors Jan Brewer and Fife Symington; Congressman John J. Rhodes III and Arizona Secretaries of State Betsey Bayless and Jan Brewer. He was Arizona Communications Director for Sen. John McCain’s 2000 presidential bid. Previously, Mr. Cole was the Director of Communications for the Arizona House of Representatives.
Mr. Cole graduated cum laude from American University’s School of International Studies in Washington, DC. He studied abroad at University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He is a public member of the Commission on Appellate Court Appointments, which selects judicial candidates for gubernatorial appointment to the Arizona Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. Mr. Cole is a long-time member and current chairman of the Phoenix Ahwatukee Foothills Village Planning Committee and serves on the Arizona 2012 Centennial Board and Foundation. He is a fourth-generation Arizonan and is a licensed private pilot.
