He also managed the successful passage of 2008 Paradise Valley Ritz-Carlton with 66.9%, and the 2009 Gaylord Resort with 84.2%. He has also managed many candidate campaigns including Governor Jan Brewer’s re-election for Secretary of State in 2006 and new-comer Mayor Scott Smith’s defeat of two-incumbents in 2008.
Paul Bentz made his start on several issues and campaigns including state outreach for the nationally recognized “Joe Arizona” campaign for gaming in Arizona in 2002 and served as key coalition builder in 2004 to the Maricopa 2020 business coalition during the planning of Maricopa County’s $16 Billion dollar regional transportation plan. Mr. Bentz worked with the campaign team to withstand over a million dollar negative ad blitz funded by a wealthy transit foe during the last month of the campaign. The plan won with nearly 58% of the vote despite being outspent in the final month.
Paul Bentz joined the HighGround team in January 2002 after graduating magna cum laude from the University of Arizona. While at the University of Arizona, Bentz studied Political Science and Mathematics and is a former Arizona Speech and Debate State Champion.
